Terrific Freezer Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. self-rising flour
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    pinch of cream of tartar
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl; mix until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Add milk and egg together.
    Mix well and turn out on a floured surface; knead several times.
    Roll out to 3/4-inch thickness.
    Cut out in 2 1/2-inch biscuits.
    Put on a greased cookie sheet and freeze.
    When biscuits have frozen, place in a plastic bag in the freezer and take out when needed.
    Makes about 2 dozen.
