Ole Timey Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. plain flour
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg
    1/2 c. sweet milk
Preparation
    Put all ingredients in a mixing bowl as listed.
    Mix with a wooden spoon.
    Roll out on floured board thin.
    Cut with any size cutter.
    Place on a flat cookie sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes at 400\u00b0.
    Bake only until tops are light brown.
    Best stored in a flour
    sack or pillow case if you can keep the kids out.
