Pheasant Flamed With Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    salt and black pepper
    2 pheasants, dressed
    4 Tbsp. butter
    6 small tart apples
    6 slices heavy white bread with crusts removed
    6 tsp. grape jam
    1/2 c. calvados or applejack
    1/2 c. heavy cream
    1/2 c. sour cream (room temperature)
Preparation
    Salt and pepper pheasants inside and out, then put 1 tablespoon butter inside each cavity.
    Place in roasting pan with 3/4 cup water.
    Roast in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
