Ingredients

1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. hot water
1 c. flour
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. nuts (any kind)
1 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Dissolve brown sugar in hot water and let cool in oblong dish. Sift flour, white sugar and baking powder together.
Add milk and vanilla.
Stir in dates and nuts.
