Mildred Booe'S Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. flour
    2 c. cornmeal (yellow)
    8 level tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 scant c. sugar
    1 c. dry milk
    2 eggs
    2 c. water
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0 to 400\u00b0.
    Put shortening in a large cake pan and melt it.
    (Put in oven to melt.)
    In a mixing bowl, mix all the remaining ingredients by hand.
    Beat about a minute, then pour into pan and bake in hot oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 25 to 30 minutes.
