Maureens Slaw - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 medium head of cabbage, chopped fine
1 1/2 to 2 Tbsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar ((1 c. sugar))
3/4 c. cider vinegar ((plus 1/4 c. water))
1 tsp. celery salt ((1 Tbsp. celery salt))
1 green pepper, chopped fine ((2 green & 1 red pepper))
1 large onion, chopped fine
2 celery stalks, chopped fine ((1/2 stalk celery, chopped fine))
2 carrots, chopped fine ((4 carrots))
3 large cloves garlic ((1 1/2 heaping Tbsp. minced garlic))
Preparation

Shred the cabbage, extra fine in a bowl and sprinkle the salt over it.
Cover and refrigerate for a minimum of one hour.
Place the sugar, cider vinegar, celery salt, and the pressed garlic in a saucepan.
Boil the mixture for a few minutes and set aside to cool.
