1 (16 oz.) pkg. dried black beans
9 c. water*
2 cloves garlic, halved and crushed
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
3 cloves garlic
1 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. dried whole oregano
2 to 4 drops of hot sauce (Tabasco)
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 1/2 c. finely chopped green pepper
