Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 bushel tomatoes
    4 green peppers
    3 lb. onions
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    4 (12 oz.) cans tomato paste
    1 Tbsp. oregano
    1 Tbsp. sweet basil
    1/3 c. salt
Preparation
    Cut up tomatoes and cook 1/2 hour or longer.
    Put through sieve.
    Combine green peppers and onions with 1 pint of oil.
    Cook and grind.
    Add sugar, tomato paste, oregano, sweet basil and salt.
    Add to tomato juice and cook until thick, about 2 hours or longer, if needed.
    Pour into jars and seal.
    Makes 10 to 11 pints.
