Honey Baked Lentils - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. (2 1/3 c.) lentils
    1 small bay leaf
    5 c. water
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1/4 tsp. powdered ginger
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1/2 c. chopped onions
    1 c. water
    4 slices bacon
    1/3 c. honey
Preparation
    Combine in a Dutch oven or saucepan the lentils, bay leaf, water and salt.
    Bring to a boil.
    Cover tightly; reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
    Do not drain.
    Discard bay leaf.
