My Best Lasagna - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    5 large cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
    1/4 lb. ground beef
    1/4 lb. pork sausage
    3 Tbsp. Contadina tomato paste
    1 (28 oz.) can Contadina whole tomatoes, chopped with juice
    1 (8 oz.) can Contadina tomato sauce
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. crushed thyme
    2 tsp. crushed basil
    3/4 tsp. crushed oregano
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 (15 oz.) carton part-skim Ricotta cheese
    1 egg, well beaten
    1 tsp. dried parsley
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    2/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese, divided
    1 1/3 c. grated Mozzarella cheese, divided
    8 lasagna noodles
Preparation
    Prepare meat
    sauce.
    In a 3-quart saucepan, heat olive oil; add
    chopped onion and saute about 3 minutes.
    Add garlic and red pepper; saute 1 minute.
    Add ground beef and sausage. Brown meat, then drain off fat.
    Add chopped tomatoes, paste, sauce,
    sugar, salt, pepper, thyme, basil and oregano.
    Bring to a
    boil;
    lower heat
    and
    simmer, uncovered, for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
