Cream Of Pimiento Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion, chopped
    2 pimientos, chopped
    3 Tbsp. Crisco
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 c. chicken broth
    1 1/2 c. milk (may be partly cream)
    3/4 c. grated cheese
    salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Preparation
    Saute the onion and pimientos in the butter until the onion is tender but not brown.
    Blend in the flour; gradually add the broth and milk.
    Cook, stirring, until thickened.
    Add the cheese and stir until melted.
    Season with salt and pepper.
