Sausage Cheese Grits Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. Jim Dandy quick grits
    1 1/2 c. (6 oz.) grated sharp Cheddar cheese, divided
    1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter
    4 eggs, lightly beaten
    1/2 c. milk
    1 lb. sausage, browned and drained
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease a 3-quart baking dish. Bring water and salt to a boil in a large saucepan.
    Slowly pour in grits.
    Cover, reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Remove from heat. Stir in 1 cup cheese and butter until melted.
    Add eggs, milk and sausage; blend well.
    Pour mixture into prepared dish.
    Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
    Bake 1 hour or until cheese is golden brown. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
