Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1 lb. dates, chopped
    1 c. chopped nuts
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1 lb. orange slice candy, cut
    1 can Angel Flake coconut
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
    Add to creamed mixture.
    Place 1/2 of flour in large bowl.
    Add nuts, candy, dates and coconut.
    Mix well. Add fruit last.
    This makes a very stiff dough.
    Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan with butter and flour.
    Bake 2 1/2 hours in a 250\u00b0 oven.
    Combine 1/2 cup orange juice with 2 cups confectioners sugar and spoon over hot cake.
    Punch holes in cake with fork before spooning the juice over it.
    Let set in pan overnight in cold place or refrigerate.
