Danish Pastry Apple Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening
    1 egg yolk, slightly beaten
    milk
    1 c. cornflakes
    6 c. apples (sugar, cinnamon and almond flavoring as for pie)
    1 egg white
Preparation
    Combine flour and salt.
    Cut in shortening.
    Beat egg yolk in measuring cup.
    Add enough milk to make 2/3 cup of liquid.
    Mix well and stir into flour.
