Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. applesauce
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. raisins
Preparation

Cream the shortening; add sugar gradually.
Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well.
Add half of the flour to raisins and nuts. To the remaining half of flour, add spices, salt and soda.
Add flour and applesauce alternately.
Add floured raisins and nuts. Bake in tube pan at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour or longer or bake in a sheet pan at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
