Austrian Barley Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. medium barley
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 medium chopped onion
    6 c. chicken or beef consomme
    salt and pepper
    1/2 c. cream
    1/2 c. thinly sliced mushrooms
Preparation
    Saute butter, barley, celery and onion for 4 minutes.
    Add consomme and simmer 30 to 40 minutes.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
