Fluffy French Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/3 cups milk
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/2 cup flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 baking powder
    1/2 cup shortening
    6 slices bread
Preparation
    Place 1 cup milk in shallow dish.
    Combine beaten eggs, flour, salt, and baking powder in another shallow dish; add 1/3 cup milk and blend.\tMelt shortening in skillet.
    Dip bread, one slice at a time, into milk, then into egg mixture.
    Turn to coat both sides of bread.
    Place bread in skillet; cover and cook over low heat until bread is golden brown on one side.\tTurn, cover, and cook until other side is golden brown.
    Serve immediately.
