Sweet Pickle Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    about 8 firm, medium cucumbers
    3 3/4 c. white vinegar
    3 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. salt (canning and pickling)
    4 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    4 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    3/4 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers and cut in sticks.
    Cover with boiling water and let stand 4 to 5 hours.
    Drain and pack solidly into pint jars.
    Mix remaining ingredients in pan, bring to a boil and boil 5 minutes.
    Pour over cukes, filling within 1/2-inch of top.
    Put on lids and rings.
    Process 5 minutes.
