Pepperminties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. plain flour
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. margarine or butter
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 large egg
    1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. confectioners sugar
    1/4 lb. peppermint candy
Preparation
    Two hours before serving or early in the day:
    Into large bowl, measure flour, sugar, margarine, baking powder, salt, egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
    With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until well blended.
    Shape into ball.
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    On lightly floured surface, roll half of dough in 12 x 6-inch rectangle.
    Cut lengthwise into 4 strips, then cut each strip crosswise into 6 pieces.
    Place rectangles about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake 12 to 14 minutes until lightly browned.
    Remove to wire racks to cool.
    Repeat with remaining dough.
