Bierocks - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (1 lb. loaf) frozen bread dough, thawed
1 Tbsp. bacon drippings
1 small onion, diced
1/2 lb. ground beef
1 lb. cabbage, shredded (4 c.)
1/2 tsp. m.s.g.
salt and pepper to taste
melted butter
Preparation

Divide dough into 6 balls and set aside.
Heat drippings in a skillet; add onions and cook until tender.
Add meat.
Cook until browned.
Add cabbage and seasonings.
Cover and steam until cabbage is wilted.
Let cool.
Roll and stretch each dough ball into 5-inch square.
Place filling in center.
Bring opposite edges together and seal.
Place sealed-side down on slightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
Brush tops with melted butter.
May use 1 (20 ounce) can sauerkraut instead of cabbage.
