Banana Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cooked pie crust (10-inch)
    1/2 c. sugar
    5 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk
    2 egg yolks
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3 ripe bananas
    1/2 pt. whipping cream
Preparation
    Combine sugar, flour and salt in a double boiler; gradually add milk.
    Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly until thickened.
    Cook for 10 additional minutes.
    Beat egg yolks.
    Add a little hot mixture to the eggs, beating well.
    Put remaining eggs in hot mixture, beating vigorously; cook 1 minute longer. Remove from heat.
    Add butter and vanilla.
    Cool.
    Slice bananas on top of cooked pie shell; pour cooled mixture over bananas.
    Top with whipping cream before serving.
