Ingredients

3 lb. sweet potatoes or yams
3 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. milk
1 tsp. nutmeg
dash of salt
1/2 lb. soft butter
Preparation

Wash, peel and grate potatoes into a large pot.
In a large bowl, cream sugar, butter, salt and nutmeg.
Mix into pot with potatoes.
Combine in another bowl the milk and eggs, then add to dry ingredients.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is firm with a candied appearance.
Pour mixture into a 4-quart casserole and cook at 400\u00b0 until browned.
May be served hot with a meal or cold as a dessert.
