Ingredients

2 c. molasses
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 tsp. soda
6 c. flour
2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. black pepper
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Heat molasses.
Add sugar, shortening and soda.
Heat again. Add flour with the remaining ingredients.
Mix well.
Roll into 4 rolls about 12-inches long each, wrapped in wax paper.
Chill 1 hour.
Slice; bake 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
