Cherry Slush - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. water
    2 (3 oz.) pkg. cherry jello
    46 oz. unsweetened pineapple juice
    1 oz. almond extract
    7-Up, Sprite or lemon-lime
Preparation
    Bring first 2 ingredients to a boil; add jello.
    Stir until dissolved.
    Add almond extract and pineapple juice.
    Add 1 1/2 juice cans of water.
    Put this mixture into freezer and let freeze solid, 6 to 8 hours.
    Set out of freezer before serving.
    Put in large container or punch bowl, then add your choice of clear beverage.
    Serve partially thawed or slushy.
