The Original Berlin Fair Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 clams, steamed and ground (save the juice from the steaming process)
    4 or 5 medium size potatoes, peeled and ground
    3 medium onions, ground
    scant 1/4 lb. salt pork, ground
Preparation
    Use a coarse grinder for all ingredients.
    Cook salt pork and onions just a little.
    Add about 2 or 3 cups or more water, then the potatoes.
    Cook until nearly done.
    Add clams and the juice, salt, pepper and a little sugar (about 1 teaspoon).
    Simmer about 1 hour uncovered.
