Old-Fashioned Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar (level)
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1/2 c. milk
    1/4 c. margarine
    1/4 c. white corn syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla
    nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Mix sugar and cocoa.
    Add corn syrup and milk.
    Stir.
    Cook on medium heat, stirring often, until it reaches a soft ball stage (235\u00b0 on a candy thermometer).
    Add butter and vanilla.
    Let cool. Beat until it thickens and loses its shine.
    Pour into greased pan to harden.
    (Nuts may be added just before pouring into pan.)
