Holiday Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) can crushed pineapple
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 small pkg. strawberry jello
    1 small carton cottage cheese (small curd)
    1 large carton Cool Whip
Preparation
    Bring pineapple and sugar to a good boil.
    Remove from heat and add jello, stirring until dissolved.
    Cool in refrigerator 45 minutes.
    Fold in cottage cheese and Cool Whip.
    Refrigerate.
