Candied Or Stewed Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    3 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Dissolve sugar in water in large saucepan.
    Prepare apples by cutting in half and removing cores.
    Place in saucepan and sprinkle with spices and butter.
    Cover and cook slowly and turn apples when about half done.
    Cook until juice begins to get syrupy.
