Holiday Fruit Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft shortening
    2 c. packed brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    3 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1 c. chopped pecans
    2 c. chopped red and green cherries
Preparation
    Mix well shortening, brown sugar and eggs.
    Add buttermilk and stir in flour.
    It will be easier to work with if you chill dough overnight.
    Drop by teaspoon on baking sheet and bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes, or until done.
    Yields 7 dozen.
