Fat-Free Fudge Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. unbleached flour
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. unsweetened applesauce
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. cocoa powder
    1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
    3 egg whites
    1/4 c. walnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Combine flour, cocoa, sugar and salt.
    Stir to mix well.
    Stir in applesauce, egg whites and vanilla.
    Fold in nuts, if desired. Coat an 8-inch square pan with nonstick cooking spray.
    Spread batter evenly in pan and bake at 325\u00b0 for 23 to 25 minutes or until the edges are firm and the center is almost set.
    Cool to room temperature.
    Cut into squares and serve.
    Yields 16 servings. Contains 80 calories and 4 grams fat.
