Rum Duff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. canned applesauce
    1/4 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. rum or 1 tsp. rum extract
    1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
    2 c. broken gingersnaps
    1/2 c. heavy cream, whipped
Preparation
    Combine applesauce, sugar, rum, grated orange rind and gingersnaps.
    Stir until well mixed.
    Chill.
    Just before serving, fold in whipped cream and pile into sherbet dishes.
    If desired, top with additional cream and nuts.
