Valentine Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 egg, well beaten
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. sifted enriched flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Cream butter or margarine and sugar.
    Add egg and vanilla and beat well.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture with milk to form a dough.
    Chill.
    Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness.
    Cut with heart shaped cookie cutter.
    Place half of the cookies on a lightly greased baking sheet; brush each with water.
    Cut smaller heart shaped centers from remaining cookies and place the heart frames on top of cookies.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Cool; fill center heart space with cherry filling.
