Yeast Dough For Sweet Buns And Cherry Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 yeast cakes or pkg.
    2 c. scalded milk
    2 c. sifted flour
    3 whole eggs or 1 whole egg and 4 yolks
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar (3/4 c. for less sweet dough)
    cinnamon
    maraschino cherries
    5 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix together yeast, milk and flour.
    Let stand until spongy (20 to 30 minutes).
    In a large bowl, put eggs, salt and sugar. Mix well, then add 4 cups flour.
    You'll have a very soft dough. Next, add your first mixture. Beat with a spoon. Add 1/2 cup melted butter. Work butter into the dough mixture until smooth. Knead on floured surface, adding 1 more cup flour until smooth and elastic. Dough is kneaded enough when it becomes shiny and has little air pockets or bubbles in the surface.
    Put dough in greased bowl and turn, leaving greased side up. Cover and let rise in warm place until double in size (approximately 1 1/2 hours). Punch down and make cinnamon buns or Cherry Bread.
