Fudge Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 heaping tbsp. cocoa
    1 stick butter
    enough evaporated milk to mix well
    1 box confectioners sugar, sifted
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. cool whip
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients excluding confectioners sugar and bring to a boil.
    Stir to prevent sticking.
    Remove from heat and add confectioners sugar.
    Add about 1/3 at a time, and use an electric mixer for beating.
    Add vanilla and continue mixing until mixture is of spreading consistency.
    Add chopped nuts if desired.
