Johnnycakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. corn meal
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    In large bowl, put flour, corn meal, baking powder and salt in bowl; set aside.
    Beat shortening, sugar and eggs; beat well.
    Add the milk, then the flour mixture.
    Drop a spoonful of batter onto the frying pan with a large spoon.
    Brown the cakes on both sides by turning them with the spatula.
