Cinnamon Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers
    1 bottle red food coloring
    3 c. vinegar
    10 c. sugar
    1 gal. water
    1 c. lime
    2 Tbsp. alum
    2 c. water
    8 cinnamon sticks
    10 oz. bag red hots
Preparation
    Peel and seed cucumbers (slice).
    Soak cucumbers in one cup of lime per gallon of water for 24 hours.
    Mix 1 cup of vinegar, red food coloring, alum and enough water to cover cucumbers.
    Simmer for 2 hours.
    Pour off.
