Alice'S Butter Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    2 sticks butter or oleo
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1 small can milk
    3 c. flour
    5 eggs
    2 Tbsp. butternut flavoring
    2 c. walnuts, chopped
    1 jar maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Cream sugar, oleo, and Crisco.
    Add eggs; beat well.
    Add flour, milk (3/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup water to make 1 cup) and flavoring; add nuts and cherries.
    Grease and flour tube pan. Start in cold oven.
    Turn temperature to 300\u00b0.
    Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes.
