Old Fashioned Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. shortening
    6 large eggs
    2 c. all-purpose flour
Preparation
    Cream sugar, vanilla and shortening until fluffy.
    Add eggs alternately with flour.
    Beat until well blended.
    Pour into well-greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 1/2-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours or until center is done.
    Cool about 10 minutes on wire rack.
    Remove from pan and cool completely. (Lemon flavoring or other flavoring may be substituted.)
