Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. butter flavoring
1 1/2 oz. bottle red food coloring
3 Tbsp. cocoa (level)
2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, flavorings and salt. Make paste of cocoa and food coloring.
Add to first mixture. Alternately add flour and buttermilk.
Mix soda and vinegar in small bowl; add to batter.
Blend.
Bake at 350\u00b0 in three 9 or 10-inch pans for 20 to 25 minutes.
