Spiced Sesame Seed Crescents - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. double-acting baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. ground mace
    toasted sesame seed
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    2/3 c. butter
    1 egg, lightly beaten
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder, mace and salt. Gradually stir sugar into softened butter. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture gradually, mixing after each addition. Let dough stand 30 minutes at room temperature. With fingers, on waxed paper, shape a rounded teaspoonful of dough at a time into a roll 2-inches long. Taper ends. Roll in lightly toasted sesame seed. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Curve ends to form crescents. Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven 18 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned around the bottom. Cool on wire rack.
