Buckaroo Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pinto beans
    3 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 green pepper, diced
    3 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1/2 c. salt pork
    2 medium tomatoes, diced
    1 medium onion, diced
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    1/4 tsp. dry oregano
    1 (4 oz.) can diced green chiles
Preparation
    Boil beans in 6 cups boiling water for 2 minutes.
    Let stand for 1 hour.
    Rinse twice.
    Add 3 1/2 cups fresh water and cook until tender.
    Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 1/2 hours uncovered.
    Serves 12.
