Stewed Pears - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 pears
    2 c. boiling water
    8 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Pare and core pears.
    Place in cold water until ready to use. Make syrup.
    Add fruit, cored side down.
    Boil gently until soft. Add lemon juice before done.
