Hearty Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 oz. pkg lentils
    2 large onions, chopped
    2 cups celery, chopped
    3 large cloves garlic, minced
    1 handful chopped fresh parsley
    1 large bay leaf
    1 cup carrots, chopped
    1 32 oz. can Italian plum tomatoes (whole, in tomato puree)
    1/4 cup olive oil
    2 tsp dried oregano
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Wash lentils and let soak overnight; drain. Saute onions, celery and garlic in olive oil. Put soaked lentils in large pot and fill with 2 quarts water. Add sauteed vegetables, carrots, tomatoes (chopped very coarsely) along with all the puree, oregano, salt, pepper, parsley and bay leaf.
