Spudnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. mashed potatoes
    2 c. warm milk
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    oil for frying
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 pkg. yeast
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup water.
    Mix potatoes and milk.
    Add flour salt, shortening and sugar.
    Add 3 more cups flour and knead.
    If needed, add 1 more cup flour.
    Let dough double itself, then roll out and cut with regular doughnut cutter.
    Let rise until twice their regular size.
    Cook in deep oil at 390\u00b0.
    Makes 4 dozen plus holes.
