Lolita'S Deep Dish Apple Pie - cooking recipe

4 c. sliced apples
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 lemon rind
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation

Mix sugar and apples.
Arrange sliced apples into chilled shell 1/2-inch from edge; work toward center until shell is covered.
Add salt, cinnamon, grated rind of lemon and lemon juice to apple mixture in pie shell.
Pile remaining apples on top.
Dot with butter.
Cover with top crust and seal edges.
Bake in preheated 450\u00b0 oven for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
