Spanish Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 chopped big (whole) onion
    2 to 3 chopped green bell peppers
    2/3 c. rice
    1 c. water
    1 lb. (12 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 c. oil
Preparation
    Fry onion and bell peppers in oil until tender.
    Cook over low to medium heat.
    Add tomatoes, water, onions, peppers, rice, salt and black pepper.
    Stir constantly until done.
    Serve with crumbled cornbread or cooked cabbage, if desired.
