Snickerdoodles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening (do not use oleo)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour (2 1/2 c. unsifted)
    1 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. cream of tartar (optional)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    sugar and cinnamon
Preparation
    Mix together the first 3 ingredients.
    Add next 4 ingredients.
    Roll in balls the size of a walnut.
    If mixture seems too wet, add a little flour at a time until easily handled. Roll these in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
