Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
3 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. salt
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. water
2 1/2 c. dates, chopped
1 c. nuts
Preparation

To prepare filling, cook brown sugar, water and dates for 5 minutes, then add nuts.
Allow to cool.
To prepare dough, cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs, then salt and flour, mixing until dough like.
Roll out dough and spread on the filling as for jelly rolls.
Roll up, chill, slice and bake at 400\u00b0 until done.
