Cousin Sallie'S Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp ginger
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. mace
    1/2 cup shortening, melted
    1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 cup molasses
    2 eggs
    2 Tbsp. vinegar plus sweet milk to make 1/2 cup
Preparation
    Sift flour with baking soda, salt and spices.
    Combine shortening, sugar and molasses in mixing bowl and beat to blend. Add eggs; beat until thoroughly blended.
    Add dry ingredients, beat until smooth.
    All vinegar and milk, and stir until thoroughly blended.
    Pour into greased 9 x 9 inch pan.
    Bake at 350 degrees 45 to 50 minutes.
