Basic Meringue How-To - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Note:
    A copper bowl is excellent for beating egg whites.
    The chemical reaction which occurs between copper and egg whites helps to stabilize mixture.
    Cream of tartar should be omitted when beating egg whites in copper bowl.
